Muslim Talks To CONFUSED Christian & It Doesn’t End Well!

What happens when a Muslim preacher approaches someone who identifies as Christian but struggles to explain what Christianity actually teaches?

In a fascinating street conversation, a Muslim preacher attempts to convince a man that Jesus Christ cannot be God. Throughout the discussion, he raises questions about the Trinity, the humanity of Jesus, worship, and salvation.

However, the conversation exposes something Christians must understand: there is a significant difference between what Christianity teaches and how someone unfamiliar with Scripture might explain it.

One of the first questions concerns the nature of God. The Christian describes Jesus as one of three parts of God. This is where the confusion begins.

Christianity does not teach that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each possess one-third of God’s divine nature. That belief is commonly called partialism, and it misrepresents the doctrine of the Trinity.

The Biblical teaching is that the Father is God, the Son is God, and the Holy Spirit is God. They are distinct persons, yet there is only one God.

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” – John 1:1

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” – John 1:14

This distinction matters because an inaccurate explanation can give someone an opportunity to attack a doctrine Christians do not actually believe.

The Muslim preacher then asks whether the Christian would worship another human being. The man answers no, and the preacher immediately uses that answer against Christianity.

But the argument overlooks something essential. Christians do not believe that an ordinary human being became God. Christians believe that God became man.

These are completely different claims.

“And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.” – 1 Timothy 3:16

Consider this illustration…

What if God came into the world to demonstrate how human beings should live?

Think about workplace training. Someone experienced demonstrates a task so that others can follow their example. Parents do something similar when raising their children. They teach through instruction and demonstration.

Although these comparisons cannot fully explain the incarnation, they illustrate why God entering His creation is not inherently unreasonable.

Another important question follows: Who created Jesus Christ?

The preacher assumes that because Jesus was born as a human being, He must be a created being. However, this confuses Christ’s human birth with His eternal existence.

“All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” – John 1:3

If everything that was made was made through the Word, then the Word cannot belong to the category of created things.

Jesus took on human nature through His birth, but His divine existence did not begin in Bethlehem. This is why understanding the difference between Christ’s humanity and deity is essential when discussing Christianity with Muslims.

The preacher also challenges whether Jesus ever instructed people to worship Him.

But we must examine the entire Biblical testimony rather than demanding one particular sentence.

“Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Of a truth thou art the Son of God.” – Matthew 14:33

“And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” – Hebrews 1:6

Scripture presents Jesus receiving worship, including worship commanded by God. This creates a serious question for anyone claiming Jesus is merely another created being.

If God alone deserves worship, why does Scripture command angels to worship the Son?

The conversation eventually shifts towards salvation. The Christian explains that he is more concerned with helping people in this life than securing a place in the afterlife.

He even describes how he would defend someone being mistreated, simply because he believes helping others is important. The Muslim preacher responds that salvation depends upon God’s mercy rather than human deeds.

This connects with Sahih al-Bukhari 6463, where Muhammad teaches that nobody’s deeds alone will secure salvation, including his own, without Allah’s mercy.

Christianity also teaches that salvation cannot be earned through good works. However, Scripture identifies salvation as God’s gift through Jesus Christ.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” – Ephesians 2:8–9

Hands folding in prayer over a Bible. Why Knowing Scripture Matters

Towards the end, the Christian shares an interesting example involving football.

He explains that although supporters of different clubs may compete fiercely, they can unite when England plays internationally. He also compares humanity coming together against a common threat in films such as Independence Day.

His point is that people should listen to one another rather than constantly fight. There is value in that desire for understanding. However, unity must never require abandoning Biblical truth.

“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:” – 1 Peter 3:15

The lesson from this conversation is straightforward: Christians should understand what they believe before attempting to defend it.

A person can sincerely identify as Christian while remaining uncertain about essential Christian doctrines. That uncertainty makes misleading arguments much harder to recognize.

The solution is not to avoid difficult questions but to become better acquainted with Scripture. Share on X
