God Said: Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
Many people dream of running a successful online business—one where digital products sell consistently, income flows in every day, and life no longer depends on a rigid 40-hour work week.
But before reaching that point, there is a fundamental truth God teaches all of us sooner or later: real success grows in places that feel uncomfortable. We often pray for expansion without realizing that God expands us through situations that stretch us.
A recent experience on a simple walk reminded me of this deeply, and it became a powerful illustration of what it means to step into God’s calling—especially in the digital space.
A Walk That Turned Into a Wake-Up Call
A few days ago, I was walking along a busy motorway. Cars rushed past in both directions—an endless flow of movement. Every so often, a cyclist would ride by.
But very few people were walking. I noticed immediately that I was one of only a handful on the pedestrian path, exposed in the open while hundreds of cars zipped by.
At first, I thought nothing of it. But after a few minutes, something about the situation felt strangely uncomfortable. The thought struck me: every person in those cars had a clear view of me. No glass separated us. No crowd helped me blend in. Just walking made me noticeable.
On my way back, the discomfort intensified. Traffic had slowed almost to a standstill, which meant people weren’t just driving past—they were pausing long enough to really look.
They could examine me while I had no idea who they were. They could judge me, recognize me, or wonder about me, and I had no control over any of it.
And in that moment, as I walked beside rows of almost-stopped cars, God spoke something to my spirit that cut straight to the heart:
“Israel, this is what stepping into success looks like.”
It wasn’t about the cars. It wasn’t about the walk. God was showing me—through something so ordinary—what it looks and feels like to step outside the comfort of the crowd and walk the path He designed.
Why the Crowd Stays in the Car
As I kept walking, God opened my eyes to something deeper. The cars represented the crowd—the majority—moving in the same direction, within the same limits, doing what everyone else is doing.
Drivers felt protected, hidden, and unnoticeable. But the walkers? They stood out without even trying.
That’s when it hit me: this is exactly why so many people struggle to create content, launch digital products, share their testimony, or step into online business.
Doing those things requires leaving the “car.” It requires stepping out of the safe, predictable flow of what others are doing.
- Visibility often brings discomfort.
- Standing out can feel uneasy.
- Allowing others to truly see you isn’t always comfortable.
And many people don’t start—not because they lack talent or calling—but because they fear what visibility exposes.
Yet God never designed His children to blend in with the masses. Scripture says:
Light isn’t supposed to hide. Light is meant to stand out. Share on X“Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.” – Matthew 5:14
The Spiritual Pattern Behind Visibility
The longer I walked, the more God used that discomfort to reveal a spiritual pattern: visibility and vulnerability are part of stepping into your purpose.
When you share what God gave you—your ideas, your gifts, your creativity—you naturally become more visible. People will watch. Some will wonder, or might critique. Some might admire. But all of them will notice.
This is the part of the journey many people don’t see. They see someone thriving, someone selling digital products, someone building a brand—but they don’t see the inner battles of stepping out of the car and onto the open road.
They don’t see the moments where discomfort tries to convince you to go back to where it’s safe.
God reminded me that uniqueness comes with responsibility. He gave each of us fingerprints to prove we were never created to be copies.
No one else has your exact experiences, your tone of voice, your way of teaching, your perspective, or your story. And those differences are not weaknesses—they are your advantage.

Why Your Uncomfortable Moments Matter
As I walked that day, I realized something humbling: even after more than ten years of creating digital products, teaching, sharing, and being online, I am not exempt from discomfort. I still feel it.
Encountering moments where visibility feels awkward. I still have thoughts like,
“What if someone I know sees this?” “What if people misunderstand me?” “Or what if this makes me stand out too much?”
But here’s what experience has taught me: The people who succeed are not those who never feel fear. They are the ones who keep walking anyway.
Growth requires you to walk while cars are watching.
Breakthrough requires you to speak while others stay silent.
Favor requires you to trust God in unfamiliar territory.
And the more I reflected on this, the more I understood something powerful: we are conditioned from childhood to blend in, follow the crowd, and avoid standing out.
But God calls us out of that mindset. He calls us to courage—not comfort.
Stepping Into Your Calling With Confidence
Walking beside that motorway was uncomfortable, but it was also freeing. It reminded me that stepping into your calling isn’t about performing for people—it’s about obeying God.
It’s about using your gifts boldly. It’s about trusting that God placed something in you that the world genuinely needs.
This is why I am so passionate about helping others create digital products. Every digital product I have ever made is built on something unique God placed inside me—my voice, my experiences, my insight, my warm-hearted teaching style, and the personal stories that only I can tell.
The same is true for you. You have something God can multiply if you will simply take the first step. Whether it’s a skill, a hobby, a lesson you’ve learned, or wisdom you’ve gained—your story is powerful.
And when you share it, God can use it to bless people every single day.
Discomfort may show up every time you begin something new, but it becomes the very doorway God uses to elevate you. Share on X
