Proof = Powerful Profits (John 12)
If you want to earn more profit in your online business, there’s one key you cannot ignore: proof.
In today’s noisy world, people don’t just want promises—they want to see results. And the more undeniable those results are, the more persuasive your message becomes.
The good news is, this principle isn’t new. It’s actually laid out in the Bible, in the powerful story found in John 12.
“Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead.” — John 12:1
Lazarus: A Living Testimony of Power
Jesus was approaching the final days before His crucifixion. He returned to Bethany—specifically, to the house where Lazarus lived.
This wasn’t just any visit. Jesus had raised Lazarus from the dead in the previous chapter, and now He’s back in the same home.
Lazarus wasn’t just a historical footnote. He became proof. A living, breathing, walking testimony of Jesus’ divine power.
“And it came to pass… they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him.” — John 12:2
This detail hit me hard during my Bible reading that morning. Lazarus was literally at the table with Jesus. Can you imagine seeing the man who was dead just days ago, now alive and fellowshipping with Jesus?
That’s the kind of proof that turns heads and changes hearts.
And here’s what’s powerful for your business: Lazarus didn’t have to say a word. His presence spoke volumes. He validated Jesus’ claims just by existing in the room.
Don’t Just Share Information—Show Transformation
Many people try to grow their business by offering more content, louder claims, or better copywriting. But the fastest way to profit is not louder words. It’s clear proof.
When you help others experience real-life transformation—when you create “Lazarus” moments—they believe, buy, and tell others. Share on X
This is exactly why I added a powerful testimony to the checkout page of my product, CashFlow For Christians. It’s a program where I show believers how to turn their hobbies, skills, and knowledge into a digital product that can start generating income in as little as 7 days.
One customer said I overdelivered. That testimony became the proof. And because people could see it right before checking out, more were encouraged to take the leap.
That’s what proof does—it tips people over the edge of hesitation and into action.
Proof Breeds Honor—But Also Attracts Critics
After Lazarus was seated with Jesus, his sister Mary took a costly ointment and poured it over Jesus’ feet, wiping it with her hair.
“Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus… and the house was filled with the odour.” — John 12:3
This act of worship was radical. Why would she do it?
Because she had just seen her brother—who was dead—brought back to life by Jesus. What’s an expensive bottle of perfume compared to that?
Mary’s generosity wasn’t just an emotional response. It was a proof-driven reaction.
Here’s a business lesson: When people see how your product changes lives, it becomes easy for them to give, honor, support, and share what you do.
But beware—proof doesn’t just bring support. It brings opposition too.
“Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot… Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?” — John 12:4-5
Of course, Judas didn’t actually care about the poor. The Scripture tells us he was a thief. He wanted access to the money for himself.
And Jesus shuts him down directly:
“Let her alone: against the day of my burying hath she kept this.” — John 12:7
In business, when your success begins to show, critics will come. Some will question your pricing. Others will criticize your marketing. Some may even accuse you of being greedy.
But their protests often mask deeper motives—jealousy, pride, or even a desire to profit off your work.
Keep doing what you’re called to do. Jesus didn’t shrink back because Judas was offended, and neither should you.
When Proof Draws Crowds—Even More Than You Do
Now here’s where things get wild:
“Much people of the Jews therefore knew that he was there: and they came not for Jesus’ sake only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom he had raised from the dead.” — John 12:9
People weren’t just coming for Jesus anymore.
They came to see Lazarus.
The proof drew the crowd.
Let that sink in. Jesus, the Son of God, is present in the house. But it was the man He raised—the evidence of the miracle—that caused people to show up in droves.
That’s why testimonials, case studies, and results speak louder than a sales page ever could.
Your Lazarus moments—your customer success stories—might become the very thing that draws a flood of new people into your business.
Why You Must Protect Your Proof and How to Get Proof If You Don’t Have Any Yet
“But the chief priests consulted that they might put Lazarus also to death; Because that by reason of him many of the Jews went away, and believed on Jesus.” — John 12:10–11
The enemy of Jesus wanted to eliminate the proof—because they couldn’t refute it.
The same is true in your life. When your results speak for themselves, some people will try to silence them. But don’t let fear or criticism cause you to dim the spotlight on your wins. Protect your proof. Use it boldly.
It’s not bragging—it’s testifying.
You might be thinking:
“But I don’t have any proof yet.”
I get it. That’s exactly where I was when I released my new product called Product Ideas That Pay Everyday—a guide that helps people come up with viral product ideas they feel confident in selling.
At launch, I had no testimonials. So here’s what I did:
I posted on Instagram Stories and said,
“This product is new. I want some proof. I’ll give you access for $1 in exchange for your honest testimonial.”
That’s it.
People took the offer, gave me powerful feedback, and now I have proof to use in future promotions.
You don’t need a big audience. You just need initiative. Serve people well. Overdeliver. And ask for honest feedback.
That’s how you build proof—brick by brick.
Don’t Hide Your Lazarus
In your business, don’t hide your Lazarus.
Your proof—your testimonials, results, and transformations—have the power to bring people in, silence critics, and multiply profits.
Whether it’s one review or ten, whether you’re just getting started or you’re scaling fast, your proof is the loudest part of your message. Let it speak.
And if you want to see how the Bible backs this business mindset even more, I highly recommend you read this next article. God bless.
