Stop Looking Down: How to Step Into the Life God Designed

Most people I talk to are tired of working 40+ hours a week. They want freedom, more time, and a way to earn an income that doesn’t demand their entire life.

Many even dream of starting an online business—but there’s one big problem: fear.

Fear of failing, of wasting time, of stepping out and not seeing results right away.

This fear keeps people standing at the edge of opportunity, looking down instead of forward.

I’ll show you why that mindset keeps you stuck and how shifting your focus can help you walk in God’s winning system.

A road sign that says CHANGES AHEAD.The Mastermind Story That Opened My Eyes

Not too long ago, I was in a mastermind session, listening to someone share how they kept seeing my work and another person’s work online. Everywhere they looked, our content was reaching people and getting results.

Their response was,

“I would love to do that. I’d love to make the kind of money you’re making. But I want to see results first.”

That one statement captures the problem so many people wrestle with. They want to step out. They want to see change. But instead of moving forward, they stand still—waiting for proof before taking action.

The reality is this: if you keep waiting for results before you act, you’ll stay stuck at the starting line.

Picture yourself standing at the edge of a mountain. On the other side is everything you desire—freedom, joy, fulfillment, and financial stability.

But here’s what happens: instead of looking across at the prize, most people look down.

They think:

  • “What if I fall?”
  • “What if this doesn’t work?”
  • “What if I embarrass myself?”

When you focus on those fears, you rob yourself of the confidence to take the first step. You end up stuck—exhausted from long workweeks, glued to a laptop, and constantly torn between providing for your family and actually being present with them.

That’s not normal. Or at least, it shouldn’t be.

The truth is, fear creates a cycle. You look at others succeeding, you desire the same thing, but instead of moving, you hesitate. You say to yourself, “Show me some of the money first, and then I’ll step out.”

But it doesn’t work that way. Success doesn’t show up before you take action—it shows up because you take action.

This is why the first step isn’t quitting your job or making a massive leap. The first step is deciding in your heart:

“Enough is enough. I won’t keep doing things the same way anymore.”

Once you make that internal decision, every step after that becomes possible.

This principle is not just practical—it’s Biblical.

Hebrews 12:2 says:

“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:2

Jesus didn’t spend His ministry dreading the crucifixion. If He had focused on the pain, He would have been paralyzed by it. Instead, He fixed His eyes on the joy set before Him—the salvation of mankind.

That joy gave Him the strength to endure suffering and complete His mission. And that’s the key for us too.

When you focus on the obstacles, you stay trapped in fear. But when you shift your eyes to the prize, everything changes.

This isn’t just positive thinking—it’s system thinking. God designed us to walk by faith, to keep our eyes on His promises, and to act on what He has revealed. That’s how confidence builds and how courage grows.

The wealthy don’t focus on the fear of failure. They focus on the systems that create results—consistent, predictable actions that produce income and freedom.

In the same way, when you focus on the mission God has set before you, you step into His winning system.

So here’s the challenge: stop looking down. Stop staring at what might go wrong. Stop waiting for proof before you take action.

Instead, look up. Look forward. Focus on the mission God has given you and the joy set before you.

If you are tired of spending 40, 50, or even 60 hours a week just surviving… it’s time to shift your focus

The winners are those who plant their flag in the ground, say “enough is enough,” and take bold steps forward in faith.

That’s how you step into the life God designed.
