Chasing Money vs Attracting Wealth: What the Bible Taught Me About Financial Freedom
Are you frustrated with how little money your online business is generating? You’re not alone.
For years, I was stuck in that same cycle—hustling hard, seeing small results, and wondering what I was doing wrong.
But one simple move changed everything for me—and it can do the same for you.
Let me show you the difference between chasing money and being chased by money, and why the Bible had the answer all along.
The Trap Most People Fall Into
In today’s world, most people are unknowingly trapped in a system that sets them up for exhaustion—not freedom. It looks like this:
- Wake up
- Chase money
- Clock in, clock out
- Ask for time off
- Repeat
This routine is so ingrained that we rarely question it. We’re taught that if we work harder or smarter for money, eventually, we’ll arrive at the life we want.
But here’s the truth: Chasing money rarely leads to lasting wealth or freedom.
“He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.” — Proverbs 28:22
My Story: Making Money but Losing It All
In my early 20s, I ran a successful online business. I was making thousands of dollars a month, doing what many dream of. But I was still operating in that same broken system.
I was chasing money.
And you know what happened? I lost it all.
Not because the business was bad. But because I was a fool with money. I made foolish choices, spent on foolish things, and lacked the foundation to sustain the wealth I was building.

Years later, when I returned to running an online business, I did something radically different.
I stopped chasing money.
Instead, I started chasing something else entirely—something that caused money to chase me.
That thing?
WISDOM.
“Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.” — Proverbs 8:18
This verse hit me like a revelation. The Bible literally says that riches and honor follow wisdom. Not the other way around.
So instead of starting with “How can I make more money?” I began asking, “How can I grow in wisdom today?”
As I pursued wisdom—through Scripture, mentorship, learning from my mistakes—everything changed.
I stopped wasting money like before, began building systems that actually lasted, and found myself making far better decisions along the way.
And money began to show up. Opportunities opened. Clients came. Products sold.
Because I wasn’t chasing income anymore. I was building it on a foundation of wisdom.
From Temporary to Durable Riches
Here’s the key difference: Chasing money might bring temporary wealth. But pursuing wisdom brings durable riches—the kind that last through seasons, storms, and setbacks.
It’s the difference between a flash-in-the-pan win and a legacy.
That’s why I always tell believers: Take your skills, hobbies, and expertise, and turn them into a digital product that pays you daily. But don’t do it the world’s way. Do it with wisdom.
Don’t spend another year running toward a financial goal only to burn out or fall short. Switch systems.
