Alignment Is KILLING Your Business (This Is How)!

Most people assume the reason they are not seeing success in their business comes down to strategy, traffic, or sales. They think they need a better funnel, more content, or a new offer. But in reality, the issue often runs much deeper.

There is something internal quietly working against them, and until it is addressed, no external change will truly fix the problem. That issue is alignment.

A pencil drawing a straight line. What Alignment Actually Means

When you think about alignment, picture a straight path leading toward a destination. That destination could be replacing your income, gaining freedom with your time, or building something that truly matters.

You begin walking toward that goal with excitement and intention. But along the way, something begins to feel off. You hesitate, slow down, or even stop entirely. That is misalignment.

Misalignment happens when what you are doing externally does not match what you believe internally. You may still be taking action, but there is a disconnect between your actions and your convictions.

Over time, that disconnect creates resistance, and that resistance quietly kills your progress.

This is exactly what happens when you are misaligned. You become divided within yourself, and that division makes consistent progress almost impossible.

I learned this the hard way when I wrote one of my first books about walking in the Spirit. I had a very clear vision for it. It was not just about the words on the page; it was about what the entire message represented.

I could picture the design in detail—a gold pathway, a house symbolizing the Spirit, mustard seeds representing faith, and a man walking toward that house. Every element had meaning.

Like many people starting out, I assumed the next step was to find a publishing company. I came across one that promised to handle everything, from design to distribution, and I paid around $1,000 to move forward.

At the time, it felt like the right decision. They spoke confidently about professional design and getting the book into stores, and I trusted the process.

But when they sent back the cover design, it looked nothing like what I had envisioned. Instead of the detailed, meaningful concept I described, they created something generic—a man walking into a tunnel with light.

It was simple, clean, and probably effective from a marketing standpoint, but it was not what I had in mind.

I remember feeling frustrated because I had clearly explained what I wanted. I pushed back and expressed how unhappy I was, but they responded by explaining that their designers knew what would sell best. From their perspective, it made sense.

They had a system, and they were following it.

The problem was not whether the design was “good” or “bad.” The problem was that it did not match what I believed the book was supposed to be. Even though the words inside were mine, the final product did not feel like mine anymore.

What is interesting is that I still moved forward. I did what many people do when they have already invested time and money. I accepted it and continued with the process. The book was published and even placed in stores for a short time. But despite all of that, nothing really happened.

On the surface, I completed the project, but internally, something felt off. I didn’t promote the book or push it forward. I didn’t put real energy behind it, not because I didn’t care, but because deep down, I wasn’t aligned with it.

It’s easy to say, “You just needed better marketing,” but that wasn’t the real issue. I didn’t truly stand behind what I had created. I believed the book should be one thing, but what I produced didn’t match that vision.

When you’re aligned, you move with peace and confidence. When you’re not, hesitation creeps in, even when you can’t fully explain it.

This is where many people find themselves today. They are taking action, but something feels off. They are building, posting, and creating, but the results are not coming. The problem is not always effort or strategy.

Often, it is that they are building something they do not fully believe in, or they are building it in a way that does not reflect what they truly know it should be.

That internal resistance slows everything down. It drains energy, reduces consistency, and eventually leads to stopping altogether. It is not always obvious, but it is powerful.

A glittering golden pathway.Fixing What Was Broken: What Happens When You’re Aligned

Years later, I returned to that same book with a new understanding. This time, I refused to compromise. I found a designer and made sure every detail matched the original vision I had from the beginning.

I brought the gold pathway, the symbolism, and the contrast between the flesh and the Spirit to life exactly as I had seen it.

As soon as the new version was complete, everything shifted. It was no longer just something I had written; it was something I fully stood behind. That difference changed everything.

When I restored alignment, I felt a renewed sense of energy. I wanted to promote the book and wanted people to see it. I spoke about it with confidence because it finally reflected what I believed it should be.

And naturally, it began to move. Not because I found a new marketing tactic, but because I removed the internal resistance. Alignment created momentum.

When your work aligns with what God has placed in you, clarity follows. And when you have clarity, taking action becomes natural instead of forced.

That experience taught me something I will never forget. Misalignment does not just slow you down; it can stop you completely. And the most dangerous part is that many people never realize it is the issue.

They keep searching for external solutions when the real problem is internal.

You can have the right idea, the right message, and even the right opportunity. But if you are not aligned with what you are building, you will struggle to move forward.

If something in your business feels off, do not ignore it. Do not force yourself to push through it without understanding why. Take the time to fix it. Because when what you are doing matches what you truly believe, everything changes.

You begin to move with confidence instead of hesitation. You show up with clarity instead of confusion. And people can sense that difference.

If you have ever dealt with opposition, doubt, or people trying to tear down what you are building, I encourage you to read the next article.

It shows how Jesus handled resistance and gives you a clear example of how to keep moving forward without letting others, or even your own doubts, hold you back.
